This 'pissed off' Antonio Brown is a huge Steelers relief

Antonio Brown cleared the air Thursday, stressing he lost his cool on Twitter, has no intentions of demanding a trade and was merely frustrated by this weekend’s loss to the Buccaneers.

Brown stormed out of the locker room Sunday without talking to the media and was a no-show for meetings Monday. He responded to a former Steelers employee’s tweet suggesting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has made his career, writing Pittsburgh should trade him to find out.

But Brown set the record straight Thursday, telling reporters, “Obviously, I don’t want to be traded.

“I’m committed to this program, this organization. I’m fully here. I go to work every day. I’m about my business. My business is winning.”

Brown said he told Steelers coach Mike Tomlin he had a personal matter Monday, but he was still disciplined. It is uncertain what the punishment was.

“I signed up to win,” Brown said. “I work extremely hard, I put in 20 hours a day of my life and my body, away from my family, to win, and when we don’t, yeah, I’m pissed off because I take it serious.”

In two games, Brown has caught 18 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. But his numbers have nothing to do with his disappointment.

“Nobody cares about your stats if you’re not winning,” Brown said.

Brown’s presence at practice and attitude are appreciated by Pittsburgh, which is already dealing with a holding-out Le’Veon Bell.
