In the card’s main event, middleweight champion Robert Whitaker will attempt to defend his title in a rematch with top-ranked contender Yoel Romero. At last July’s UFC 213, the top two middleweights went to war for five full rounds of blood-soaked combat that took an obvious toll on both men. Ultimately, Whitaker used his abilities as an elite striker to win the interim middleweight title, and Saturday’s rematch is expected to mirror their first entertaining encounter.

With reigning champion Tyron Woodley still out of action while he recovers from an injury, a highly-anticipated interim welterweight title fight between fourth-ranked Colby Covington and No.1 contender Rafael Dos Anjos is the most significant bout that the division can currently offer. And with a shot at Woodley on the line, this 170-pound scrap will undoubtedly add a little intensity to the evening.

Following last December’s UFC 219 loss to Cris “Cyborg” Justino, Holly Holm’s record fell to a disappointing 1-4 since defeating Ronda Rousey. But as we’ve seen in the past, Holm isn’t one to run from her Octagon struggles and will meet UFC newcomer and former Invicta FC featherweight champion Megan Anderson in an intriguing 145-pound affair.
