Vikings vs. Eagles odds: NFL playoff picks from expert who's 8-3 on Eagles' games

The Minnesota Vikings meet the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. The hometown Eagles are three-point underdogs in the NFL playoffs after the line opened at 3.5. The Over-Under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 39, up one from the opener.

Before you lock in your picks and bets for Vikings-Eagles, you need to see what Vegas legend Micah Roberts has to say.

Last week, he touted the Eagles as home underdogs in their divisional playoff game versus Atlanta. Grab Philly +3 with no hesitation, Roberts told SportsLine readers. The result: Eagles 15, Falcons 10 -- an outright upset and another easy cash.

Strikingly, that improved his record to 8-3 picking Eagles games against the spread. Anyone who has followed his advice is up big.

Part of his success: Roberts has worked in the Las Vegas sports book industry for 20 years, including a 13-year run as Station Casinos' book director; he can spot a bad line a mile away.

Now, Roberts has locked in a strong pick for Vikings-Eagles and he's sharing it over at SportsLine.

Roberts knows that against the Giants, Raiders and Falcons, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles threw for five touchdowns with just two interceptions. And when Philly's season was on the line last week, Foles threw for 246 yards and didn't turn it over. He had a 100.1 passer rating.

SportsLine's advanced computer model says that against the Vikings, Foles will throw for almost 200 yards and a touchdown. Eagles TE Zach Ertz is the best receiving bet to find the end zone.

The Eagles' defense, which finished fourth in the NFL allowing 18.4 points per game, sacked Matt Ryan three times and forced six punts last week.

But just because the Eagles come in hot doesn't mean they can beat the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game, or even keep it within the spread.

The Vikings have proven they can win with both defense and offense. Last week, they beat the high-flying Saints -- again -- in a game where quarterback Case Keenum threw for over 300 yards.

Vikings RB Latavius Murray had 67 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown last week, his ninth rushing score of the season. He's had at least 19 carries the last four games.

On defense, Minnesota held the Bengals, Packers and Bears to a combined 17 points in Weeks 15, 16, and 17. The Vikings are No. 1 in total defense at 275.9 yards per game and No. 1 in points allowed at a minuscule 15.8.

They also boast a top-10 offense that averages 23.9 points. Keenum finished the regular season seventh in quarterback rating (98.3) and had as many passing TDs (22) as Cam Newton, Derek Carr, and Dak Prescott despite only appearing in 15 games.

Roberts is leaning Under, but he knows there's a huge x-factor you're not thinking about that determines which side of Vikings-Eagles you need to be all over.

So which side should you back in Vikings-Eagles on Sunday? Visit SportsLine now to see what big x-factor determines which side of Vikings-Eagles you need to be all over, all from the Vegas legend who is 8-3 on Eagles picks, and find out.
