Ohio State DE Sam Hubbard declares for NFL Draft

Ohio State defensive end Sam Hubbard has declared for the NFL Draft.

Hubbard took to Twitter to notify his fans he would forgo his final year of NCAA elibility to begin his future in the NFL. He thanked the Buckeyes for all of their support in his time at Ohio State.

"Growing up in Ohio, wearing the Scarlet and Grey for the Buckeyes was always a life-long dream of mine," Hubbard wrote. "In high school, I was given an opportunity to fulfill this dream and become an Ohio State football player by Coach Meyer.

"These past four years at Ohio State have been everything I dreamed about and so much more. Now, as a graduate of The Ohio State University, I believe I am ready to chase another life-long dream of mine, playing in the National Football League."

Hubbard posted the message less than a day after a bowl victory over USC where he picked up 2 1/2 sacks as a redshirt junior, and he finishes his collegiate career with an impressive 14.5 sacks.

Hubbard joins cornerback Denzel Ward, who skipped Friday's bowl game to avoid injuries, as the second Ohio State player to declare for the draft.
