Fourth quarter
6:48 p.m.: On third-and-goal from the 5, Trubisky’s pass to Dontrelle Inman in the end zone is intercepted by Quandre Diggs for a touchback. The Lions take over at their 20 with 13:31 left.
Third quarter
6:44 p.m.: On third-and-18 from the Chicago 39, Trubisky threads a deep pass to Markus Wheaton for a 22-yard gain to the Detroit 39. A pass to Joshua Bellamy for 16 yards and a run by Jordan Howard for 16 follow to get the Bears to the Detroit 8 at the end of the third quarter.
6:35 p.m.: Stafford is sacked on second down and the Lions go three and out. Sam Martin shanks a punt 24 yards, but after a Bears penalty they get the ball at their 36 with 3:52 left.
6:28 p.m.: The Bears get as far as their 40 before they punt. Agnew gets brought down as the Detroit 26 with 6:11 left.
6:23 p.m.: Touchback Bears.
6:19 p.m.: Eric Ebron makes the fan base happy with his leaping 8-yard touchdown catch in the back of the end zone for a 20-3 lead with 9:48 left. The Lions take advantage of a short field after Slay’s pick as they dink and dunk down the field. LIONS 20, BEARS 3
6:12 p.m.: On second-and-8 from the Chicago 22, Slay intercepts Trubisky and the Lions take over from their 41 with 14;10 left.
6:10 p.m.: After a short Cohen return, the Bears start from their 20.
Second quarter
5:55 p.m.: Mike Nugent’s 41-yard field goal cuts the Bear’s deficit to 13-3 with 2 seconds left. LIONS 13, BEARS 3
5:53 p.m.: Riddick fumbles on third-and-15 and the Bears recover at the Detroit 27 with 12 seconds left.
5:47 p.m.: The Bears get as far as the Detroit 41. On third-and-7 from the 42, Trubisky’s pass to Wright is broken up by Slay, who returns from concussion protocol on this series. After a punt, the Lions take over from their 7 with 57 seconds left.
5:33 p.m.: Tarik Cohen returns the kickoff 90 yards to the Detroit 14, but a hold by the Bears brings the ball back to the Chicago 10 with 5:58 left.
5:31 p.m.: Stafford’s 3-yard pass to TJ Jones with 6:10 left gives the Lions a 13-0 lead. The Lions reached their 38 with a good mix of runs and passes, including a 9-yard run up the middle by Riddick. But penalties back them up. After facing a second-and-26 from their 22, Stafford scrambles on third-and-18 from his 30 and launches a deep ball that Marvin Jones outjumps Eddie Jackson for for a 58-yard catch at the Chicago 12. LIONS 13, BEARS 0
5:15 p.m.: The Bears manage one first down but Trubisky’s short pass to Benny Cunningham on third-and-13 goes for only 12 yards to the Chicago 45. After a punt, an Agnew return and a holding call on Hayden, the Lions will start from their 8 with 11:54 left.
5:10 p.m.: The Bears will start from their 25 after a touchback.
5:07 p.m.: Prater’s 31-yard field goal gives the Lions a 6-0 lead with 14:56 left. Undrafted running back Tion Green had some nice runs, including a 7-yarder for a first down. LIONS 6, BEARS 0
First quarter
5:04 p.m.: First quarter ends and Lions can’t convert on third-and-11 from their 14 when Theo Riddick’s catch nets only 1 yard.
4:55 p.m.: The Bears go three and out. After an Agnew 12-yard punt return, the Lions start from their 38 with 5:23 left. Inexplicably, after the Lions lose Slay, the Bears don’t test Lions cornerbacks D.J. Hayden or Nevin Lawson with a deep pass.
4:51 p.m.: Lions get as far as their 49, but a holding call on Corey Robinson and a sack of Stafford on second-and-16 thwarts the drive that starts off with a quick first down pass to TJ Jones. After a touchback punt, the Bears start from their 20 with 7:22 left. Cornerback Darius Slay is being evaluated for a concussion before the Lions come out on defense.
4:44 p.m.: The Bears get one first down but can’t convert a second when Quandre Diggs knocks the ball loose from Kendall Wright’s reception attempt on third-and-6 from the Chicago 31. After a punt and Jamal Agnew return, the Lions take over from their 37 with 9:45 left.
4:40 p.m.: Sam Martin kicks a line drive, but Tarik Cohen returns it 19 yards to the Chicago 16 with 11:52 left.
4:37 p.m.: Matt Prater’s 48-yard field goal gives the Lions a 3-0 lead with 11:58 left. On the first play from scrimmage, defensive lineman Eddie Goldman takes a personal foul for shoving Joe Dahl in the face for no reason, pushing the Lions to their 40. On third and 6, Stafford avoids a blitzing Sherrick McManis and hits in the left flat Eric Ebron for a 19-yard gain to the Chicago 37. On third-and-3 from the 30, Pernell McPhee bats down Stafford’s pass like a rejected basketball shot. LIONS 3, BEARS 0
4:31 p.m.: Ameer Abdullah back to return to the kickoff. Returns it 25 yards to the 23.
4:26 p.m.: Bears win coin toss and defer. Lions will start on offense.
