The Warriors are playing like turkeys right now

The Warriors lost their fourth straight game on Wednesday, tasting 123-95 defeat at home at the hands of the rival Thunder. Dennis Schroder roasted Golden State for 32 points while Paul George cooked up a 25-9-5 game and Russell Westbrook stuffed the stat sheet with a triple-double. Steven Adams’ 20 and 11 were gravy.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson continued to be sweet on offense, but just about every other Warrior had a sour night. Getting Stephen Curry and Draymond Green will help with shortening the list of players used. Some of these guys (not naming names) should get just a pinch of playing time.

This is Golden State’s first four-game losing streak under Steve Kerr, a bitter note with Curry still a week away from his return. The skid has dropped the Warriors to 12-7, 5th place in the West. Golden State was 10-2 before Curry went out, and are 2-5 since. This is the easiest MVP run in history.

It also leaves a bitter taste in one’s mouth about the ability of Klay to carry a team, and even of Durant’s regression to a timed-out version of basketball. Yes yes, we all know Steph is important. But shouldn’t a Durant-Thompson squad be better than this, even with a lackluster supporting cast?

The Memphis MFing Grizzlies are in first place thanks to Marc Gasol’s game-winning free throws. There is nothing like Memphis basketball. Earlier this season I wrote about the Grizzlies bringing grime back to the NBA.

Another reason the Grizzlies find themselves in first place: the ascendant Blazers got trucked by the ascendant Bucks.

Speaking of getting trucked, the maddening Celtics got Trey Burked.

LeBron’s first game in Cleveland as a Laker was hella boring. The Cavaliers’ tribute video was good, though. Seerat Sohi writes on how silly the backlash to The Decision looks now. I offered up three lessons the Lakers should learn from LeBron’s last four years in Cleveland.

Real talk for a second: if circumstances (short-term or otherwise) have left you a little lonely this holiday season, or if you’re seriously feeling alienated from the people who will surround you today, know that you are valued, you are loved, and that we’re all in this together. It’s a stressful time in the world and country on every level, and that doesn’t even speak to any personal issues any of us might be dealing with. But we’ve all got each other and some measure of peace (if we can spend some time chatting about basketball every morning). Find the blessings, love yourself, and love each other.

Happy Thanksgiving. Be excellent to each other.
