Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and famous fighting man Conor McGregor squared up one more time before the UFC 229 main event and ... wait, Drake was there?
Yeah, Drake was there and he’s Team McGregor.
Of course Drake as a bit of a reputation as a bandwagon fan and this is all pretty random, so people spent Friday night tweeting about this happening. I mean, it’s pretty enjoyable!
Drake loves trying to absorb the energy of anyone who's getting attention at the moment. I've been calling him Shang Tsung for years now.

I honestly thought it was a joke when someone tweeted that Drake was draped in the Irish flag for the McGregor weigh-in, but here we are pic.twitter.com/zC6EGd8YVv

The whole weigh-in was pretty wild, and MMA Fighting was there to capture Conor trying to kick Khabib. Plenty of Drakeage in there, too.
Then they talked a bunch of trash, again via MMA Fighting:
Following that brief scuffle, McGregor took the microphone to address the crowd and warn host Joe Rogan not to interact with Nurmagomedov.
“Don’t let that smelly rat put that hat on your head, Joe,” McGregor said. “The smell of that f**king thing. Don’t ever let him put that hat on your head.
“It’s good to be back. UFC fans, it’s good to be f**king back. The king is home.”
Up next, Nurmagomedov was given a chance to speak and he had a message for the large contingent of McGregor supporters who were audibly booing him.
“Tomorrow night, I’m going to smash your boy, guys. I’m going to smash your boy,” Nurmagomedov said. “And I want to say thank you all Irish fans, all fans around the world. Because of you guys, this fight is happening. Thank you guys and tomorrow night, inshallah, and still.”
Cool! Keep up with MMA Fighting’s coverage of Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov and UFC 229 and follow them on IG, too, if that’s more your thing.
