The Kansas City Chiefs had all their weapons on display in a ‘Sunday Night Football’ thrashing of the Cincinnati Bengals, a 45-10 victory that vaulted Kansas City to 6-1, the best record in the AFC.
Kansas City is the highest-scoring offense in the NFL at 37 points per game and on Sunday the usual suspects had their way. Kareem Hunt had 141 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns, Tyreek Hill caught seven passes including a touchdown, and Travis Kelce tallied 95 receiving yards.
Patrick Mahomes led the way for the Chiefs with 358 yards and four TD passes, his sixth consecutive 300-yard game. Kansas City’s signal caller has 2,507 yards and 22 touchdown passes in his career, both NFL records for a player’s first eight games.

Chiefs 24, Bengals 7, halftime: Cincinnati got on the board thanks to a touchdown catch by tight end C.J. Uzomah, a drive that was aided by two separate Chiefs penalties for too many players on the field.
Kansas City answered with an easy, breezy touchdown of their own, Pat Mahomes’ third touchdown pass of the opening half. This one was to a wide-open Demetrius Harris in the end zone, followed by Harris disappearing.
Chiefs 14, Bengals 0, 13:18 remaining 2Q: Kareem Hunt added another touchdown reception, but Kansas City received incredible field position thanks to a bungled (fake?) punt attempt by Cincinnati. A snap in punt formation dropped by Clayton Fejedelem set up the Chiefs in their own territory, making for a quick and easy score.
Chiefs 7, Bengals 0, 8:08 remaining 1Q: Kareem Hunt took a six-yard pass play into the end zone for the game’s first score, but what set it up was a nifty run by the Chiefs running back.

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season in Week 6, falling to the New England Patriots, but it was still a good game for them, for the most part. Patrick Mahomes was excellent, and remains the focal point of Kansas City’s dominance this season. He’ll try to get his team to 6-1 on the year in Week 7, with a home game against the Cincinnati Bengals, set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC for Sunday Night Football (live streaming via FuboTV, NBC Sports).
The Bengals have been pretty good this season as well, and lead the AFC North with a 4-2 record. The big issue, though, is that they just lost to the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, and have a slate of tough games for much of the season. Their losses thus far are to the Panthers and Steelers, with wins over the Colts, Ravens, Dolphins and Falcons.
Andy Dalton hasn’t been quite as good as Mahomes, but he’s still been pretty good in his own right. He’s thrown for 1,674 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Mahomes has 1,865 yards, 18 touchdowns and four interceptions.
