Tiger Tracker: Follow Tiger Woods' second round at the BMW Championship

What started as a big week for Tiger Woods just got a little more interesting.

Woods, after being named as a captain's pick by Jim Furyk for the U.S. Ryder Cup team earlier this week, came out on fire Thursday at the BMW Championship. Woods shot an 8-under 62 and is tied for the lead with Rory McIlroy.

With storms expected to hit the area on Friday afternoon, tee times were moved up several hours. Woods will tee off with Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler at 8:06 a.m. ET.

Woods entered the week ranked 25th in the FedExCup standings and needs a strong week to remain inside the top 30 to qualify for the Tour Championship in two weeks, the PGA Tour season's final event. But Thursday's hot start put him in a great position to do just that.

Now the question becomes: can he win his first PGA Tour event since 2013? Follow every hole of Tiger's second round right here to see how he follows up his first-round masterpiece.

HOLE 6: Par 4

Tiger once again blasts a driver down the middle of the fairway, this one traveling 281 yards. From 130 yards out, he sticks a low approach to *just* outside 15 feet, but once again the good 'ol Scotty Cameron putter disappoints, sliding the birdie attempt just outside the right edge. He taps in again for par. Still +1 on the day, 7 under for the tournament.

HOLE 5: Par 3

The first hiccup for Tiger Woods comes on the fifth hole. His tee shot to the short par 3 came up well short and in the front bunker. He nearly holed the bunker shot but it slid over four feet past the cup. And Tiger then lipped out the four-footer for par, tapping in for his first bogey of the day. He's now +1 on the day and 7 under for the tournament, four shots off the lead.

HOLE 4: Par 4

Tiger's driver is back in action, this one blistered 313 yards right down the fairway. That left him just over 150 yards to the pin and he stuck his approach shot to 18 feet. But like the first three holes, the birdie attempt slid just past the hole. Yet another tap-in for par. Where his putter was magical in the first round, it hasn't kicked into gear yet on Friday. He's still even on the day, 8 under for the tournament.

HOLE 3: Par 4

Tiger got the driver back in the fairway on No. 3, driving it 300 yards on the dot. That left him 146 yards to the hole and he hit his approach to the middle of the green, 20 feet from the cup. Looked like he misread the putt a bit and it slid past the right side of the cup and he again taps in for par. Nothing exciting so far for Woods, but nothing detrimental either. Still at even for the round and 8 under overall. Currently in a tie for third with Justin Thomas, behind Rory McIlory and leader Xander Schauffele.

HOLE 2: Par 4

Tiger's drive on the second was a bit wayward, finding a fairway bunker and leaving him just under 100 yards to the hole. His bunker shot from there came up just short of the green, but Woods putted the ball from that position and nearly holed it out for a birdie. Instead he'll settle for a tap-in and his second consecutive par to start his round. (Even on the day, 8 under overall)

HOLE 1: Par 4

Tiger blasted his opening drive of the day down the right side of the fairway, leaving himself with just over 130 yards to the flag. His approach came up a bit short and left him over 37 feet for birdie. His birdie attempt missed and left him 6 feet for his par, which he drained with confidence to tally a par (4) on the first hole. He remains at 8-under par overall, two shots behind leader Xander Schauffele.
