Left off: Joe Callahan, Christian Hackenberg
Why: The Eagles giving Nate Sudfeld the majority of the reps on Thursday night was another clear indication they have no intention of keeping Callahan on the roster. That is no surprise.
The same is going to be the same with Hackenberg. The former Jets' quarterback will likely see some time in the Eagles' preseason finale against his former team. His ceiling, however, is the practice squad.
Wentz didn't play on Thursday night, the second preseason game in a row he has saw out.
It likely isn't going to cost him a roster spot.
This is going to be a big week for Wentz and his chances of playing in Week 1. The Eagles coaches and medical staff will meet sometime before Sunday's practice to decide if Wentz can resume 11-on-11 drills. If he does, his chances of playing in Week 1 remain intact.
If he doesn't? Then it might really be the Nick Foles' show in the season opener.
The last time Foles played the Patriots he had the game of his career and cemented his legacy in Philadelphia sports. This time around was almost as bad as the last time was good.
Foles was 3/9 for 44 yards when he was in the game against the Patriots. In Foles' defense he did not have much time to operate as the offensive line did not hold up against the Patriots' pass rush.
Foles' night ended on the sideline after he suffered a shoulder strain in the second quarter.
Sudfeld was the lone bright spot for the Eagles against the Patriots.
Sudfeld displayed all of the traits the Eagles want in a quarterback. His accuracy was impressive. The deep passes he did attempt were on the money. He moved around when he needed to when the pressure was there.
The Eagles have to be thrilled to see Sudfeld take such a big step forward from his first preseason game.
