While not quite the fashion statement he made with his tuxedo cut-offs at the NBA Finals in June, LeBron James got the world talking with his shorts again.
The newly minted Lakers forward showed up to see his future teammates in action at the Las Vegas summer league Sunday, and the King showed off his team spirit with a pair of purple and gold shorts emblazoned with “LAKERS” across the front.
Though not everyone in Los Angeles has embraced their new monarch, James received a standing ovation from the Lakers fans in attendance when he walked in to the arena.
He held court from seats along the baseline, giving a hug to second-year Lakers guard Josh Hart and greeting Brandon Ingram when he arrived.
The season doesn’t start for a few months, but James already appears focused on making his new home work out. And even if it doesn’t, at least he will have made some new friends.
