NBA free agency is right around the corner and plenty of teams are looking to make a big splash.
The Boston Celtics could be an exception.
General Manager Danny Ainge thinks his team is solid and doesn't really need to upgrade the roster, according to the Boston Globe.
"We don’t really have a need. We have really good players," Ainge said. "We need to surround them with role players with the rest of our roster that have a chance to win.”
Ainge, who's collected multiple assets in the form of players and future first-round draft picks, also touched on building the roster through the trades.
“We explore every trade of players of certain magnitude, superstar, first ballot Hall of Fame-type of players. We’re gonna take a look, kick the tires and see if there’s something there. I think those things are unlikely.”
That's suspiring, considering the Celtics have reportedly been in talks with the Spurs about a potential Kawhi Leonard trade.
Ainge could be right about his roster, which finished second in the Eastern Conference and fell one game shy of making the NBA Finals last season.
But nothing is set in stone and everyone has price.
