Hey, remember when those weight-cutting experts were like, “This will be the biggest weight cut we’ve ever done but Max Holloway is a stud and he can handle it and blabbity-blah-blah...”
Yeah, no.
The Hawaiian was pulled from his UFC 223 pay-per-view (PPV) main event against Khabib Nurmagomedov on Friday after failing to make it to the scale, which is not surprising when you consider “Blessed” took the fight on just six days notice.
I’m sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.
BREAKING: Max Holloway has been declared medically unfit to fight. Holloway is out of UFC 223. Per Dana White.

Let’s hope he’s okay.
Today’s incident leaves “The Eagle” without an opponent (for now), though a couple of lightweights already slotted to compete could be moved up. UFC 223 already lost one 155-pounder in Tony Ferguson (because of this) and after the recent bus attack by Conor McGregor — which led to the cancelation of three fights — it will be a miracle if we actually make it across the finish line.
Stay tuned.
