San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was booked into a Northern California jail on Sunday, according to online inmate records.
The San Francisco Chronicle, citing a person with knowledge of the incident, reported that Foster faces domestic violence charges. His bail was set at $75,000, according to jail records.
"The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the report regarding Reuben Foster, the 49ers said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports and other outlets. “We take matters of this nature seriously and are gathering all pertinent information."

His arrest this weekend marks Foster’s second in about a month’s time. He was arrested in Alabama on suspicion of marijuana possession on Jan. 12 and released from Tuscaloosa County jail after he posted $2,500 bond, according to AL.com.
Foster, 23, recently completed his rookie season after the 49ers selected him in the first round (31st overall) in last year’s draft.
Foster was a standout at Alabama --- where he played in two national title games --- and was expected to be a top-10 pick before his stock fell the weeks leading up to the draft.
He had two issues at last March’s scouting combine: an argument with a medical staffer led to his dismissal from the combine and it later became known he had failed a drug test when he provided a diluted urine sample.
