NBA scores 2018: Stephen Curry hates Dallas & 5 more things from Wednesday night

The Dallas Mavericks entered Wednesday with the longest active winning streak in the NBA — just four games, but still — and left with a Stephen Curry dagger to the hearts. It’s commendable that they stuck around for 48 minutes against Golden State, and their 10-0 run to tie the game with one minute left was improbable. But Curry hates Dallas; that’s the only explanation we have left.

This was Curry’s sixth game-winning shot (five seconds or less) of his career, and three of those six have come against Dallas. As a Dallasite, I can’t tell you why Curry would hate this fairly lovely city. But he obviously must. (You can see the other two shots here.)

Curry’s figures remain ridiculous — he’s shooting a career-high 58 percent inside the three-point arc, even better than that impossible 2015-16 campaign, and since returning from his ankle sprain Curry has 70 points in 60 minutes played while hitting 16 of his 26 threes. He belongs in the MVP every year; he’s still the league’s second or third best player, and the other player he’s competing with is his own damn teammate.

So the real answer is that Curry does this to everyone, and the Mavericks have just unluckily stumbled into his wrath several times. But maybe there is some hatred? Clearly, Steph has never visited Pecan Lodge or hit up Twilite Lounge after. I’d recommend it!

Gerald Green has found his home

Houston beat Orlando without James Harden, who missed his first game since his hamstring injury on New Year’s Eve and is expected to miss several more. A contributing factor? Newly signed Gerald Green playing in just his fourth game with the team.

Green led Houston in scoring with 27 points on 7-of-10 shooting from deep, and the 31-year-old is looking like a perfect fit in the shooter-friendly Mike D’Antoni system. That should be obviously, right? Seriously, a union between these two — Green and D’Antoni — is long overdue.

Throw in the fact that Green’s hometown is Houston, and this is simply poetic.

Nikola Mirotic should go to prison

He puts what on a sandwich, now?

Niko also admitted to dipping Oreos in orange juice, which is strange but not nearly as disgusting. I’ll let it slide.

Isaiah Thomas returned to Boston but didn’t play

We knew this, and we also knew he would get a standing ovation and bucketloads of love from his formerly hometown crowd.

Here’s why Thomas’ relationship with Boston is so intense.

Westbrook debuted a new signature shoe

You in or out on these?

Terrance Ferguson needs to chill on these dunks, man

Goodness!
