Kris Dunn fell so hard on his teeth, they left a mark in the hardwood court

We’ve seen so many different injuries happen in basketball over the years, but we’ve never seen something quite like this Kris Dunn injury. Please be warned: you will not like it.

In his Wednesday game against the Golden State Warriors, the Chicago Bulls guard coasted in for a routine breakaway dunk but lost his grip on the rim while his legs were swinging out in front of him. Since gravity is a bitch, Dunn went straight down, head first — or, more specifically, teeth first.

According to the Bulls, the official injury term was “dislocated teeth.”

Here’s the play. It’s not grotesque, but it is not particularly pleasant to watch, either. You’ve been warned appropriately, and it is totally understandable if you want to skip it.

Here’s a screenshot that basically sums it up.

Dunn hit the ground so hard, he left a mark IN THE HARDWOOD FLOORS.

Goodness.

Here’s proof from Chicago’s broadcast:

OW! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow ow, ow! Owowowowowowowoooowwwwwwwww.

It’s nice to see supportive teammates, though!

OK, but that’s a legitimately good joke. Shoutout to the person who asked if Dunn was a beaver, too, after seeing what he did to the floor.

Anyway, apologies and best wishes to Dunn, who hopefully has a great dentist.

As for the rest of us, maybe we should totally floss tonight. It’s time to stop taking these pearly whites for granted, because today we all learned you can dislocate them, and that sounds like just about the worst damn thing in the entire world.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
