Although Brian Bowen was at the center of the FBI investigation against Louisville and other schools, he maintains he had no part in it.
"I was shocked," Bowen said about the FBI probe on Outside the Lines, per Jeff Goodman of ESPN. "I didn't believe it at all. ... They have to be lying. There's no way I'm involved in it. ... I don't know anything about it."
Adidas reportedly sent $100,000 to his father, Brian Bowen Sr., to get the 5-star recruit to sign with Louisville. The scandal resulted in head coach Rick Pitino being fired from the school.
Bowen has apparently not spoken to his father about the incident but says he didn't do anything wrong.
"I feel like I'm a victim because of greedy adults," he said Thursday.
The small forward, who was considered the No. 19 player in the 2017 class by 247Sports, is planning to transfer to another school.
Meanwhile, Pitino was let go after 16 years with Louisville and the separation has not been pretty. The 65-year-old is currently suing the school for the remainder of his $35 million contract that the school has refused to pay after firing for cause.
Like Bowen, Pitino also maintains his innocence in the situation and willingly took a lie detector test to prove he knew nothing.
