Drops hurt Redskins again

Just as it looked like the Redskins were destined to score the first points of the game, a rifled throw from Kirk Cousins glanced off the hands of Jamison Crowder and into those of Dallas safety Jeff Heath.

Dropped passes have killed Washington’s offense at times this season. So far, it has two against the Cowboys.

Washington defense looking good

The Redskins defense has forced two three-and-outs to start the game. It has done a great job stopping the run to force passing downs, giving Washington the opportunity to bring pressure at quarterback Dak Prescott. Rookie Josh Harvey-Clemons recorded his first career sack on the Cowboy’s second third down play as Washington’s defensive line and outside linebackers quickly collapsed the pocket. — Master Testfatsion

Redskins defense starts strong while Cowboys sputter

The Cowboys offense has scuffled without Ezekiel Elliott and it doesn’t look much improved so far against the Redskins.

Washington forced two three-and-outs to start the game, earning some great field position for its second drive of the game, starting inside Dallas territory.

Swearinger gives tribute to Sean Taylor with cleats

This week is the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” week, allowing players the chance to wear custom cleats to honor their charitable causes. D.J. Swearinger’s sweet shoes pay tribute to former Redskins safety Sean Taylor, killed 10 years ago this past Monday.

What a rush

The Redskins will be wearing their “Color Rush” uniforms tonight, meaning they will be clad from head to toe in burgundy. You can read more here from Dan Steinberg.

Hope you like burgundy.

Injury report and inactives

The Redskins have already ruled out tight end Jordan Reed, as well as center Chase Roullier, safety Montae Nicholson and defensive lineman Terrell McClain.

The big news is that Trent Williams is active and will start after missing last Thursday’s game against the New York Giants. With Williams back at left tackle, Washington is pushing Ty Nsekhe over to left guard, where he will start in place of Arie Kouandjio.

Meanwhile the Cowboys have made linebacker Sean Lee inactive, a key piece in a struggling defensive unit.
